 Rev. Frances Virgil Mills - a woman of God - Saved by Grace, Called by God, Anointed by the Holy Spirit was called to Teach and    Preach the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.   Rev. Mills is a native of Waycross, Ga. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age at Big Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Waycross.  As an adult, in 1973, she joined and rededicated her life to the Lord at The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga. under Pastor Frank Jones. She served faithfully in many ministries until hearing the Lord call her into Ministry. She acknowledged her call to ministry in April 1997, was licensed to preach the Gospel in January 1998 and was ordained in November 1999, under the pastorate of Dr. William E. Flippin, Sr. at The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church.

In January 2004 Rev. Mills heeded the voice of God to take ministry to a new level: 

  • April 2004 she began a Saturday evening Bible Study Ministry entitled “Sister-2- Sister”

  •  September 2005 Pastor was led to take her ministry to a new level and Tabernacle of Faith Christian Church was founded and located at 2490 Columbia Drive in Decatur, Ga.

  •  In March 2011, the membership purchased its current church building and acreage located at 2999Flat Shoals Rd in Decatur.

  •  Under Pastor’s leadership and by the grace of God Tabernacle of Faith has experienced tremendous growth.

  • Pastor has trained and ordained 13 Deacon Leaders (both male and female) and has licensed 3 Associate Ministers.

  •  Additionally, many ministries have been birthed to enhance our service to God and His  people including - Trustees, Finance, Missions, Sunday School, Men’s Bible Study, Women’s Bible Study, Adult Choir, Youth–4--Christ Teen Choir, Babes In Christ Children’s Choir, Adult and Children’s Ushers, Mass Media, Jail and Prison Ministry, Dance & Drama, Youth Mime Ministry, Hospitality, Pastor’s Aid and Kitchen Ministry.

  • Membership has grown to 220 members

Rev. Mills is committed to serving God’s people in every walk of life and thus she has been  very active in the Metro Atlanta Community. Under her leadership Tabernacle of Faith has been sponsoring such community events as:

  •  Annual Coats and Hats Drive for the Homeless,

  •  Annual Free Food and Clothing for the Community,

  • Annual Back-To-School Give Away,

  • Annual Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets and Toys to needy families, and

  • Support and Partnering with our community schools - Flat Shoals Elementary and Bright Beginnings Daycare.


     Rev. Mills has been an active leader in the Mount Calvary Missionary& Education Baptist Association for more than 20 years where she served as President of the Women’s Division for many years and currently serves as 1st Vice Moderator of the Association and President of the Youth Division. Rev. Mills has served as a volunteer Chaplain for the Dekalb County Police Department .

    In 2010, she was recognized and honored as ‘Woman of the Year” for her service to the community by the RossReport News at its 20th Annual statewide Community Leaders Banquet. 

    On July 13, 2013, at the Annual Convocation of Churches of the Light of The World International Interdenominational Association, under the leadership of Arch Bishop Ruth Smith-Holmes, Rev. Mills was approved to the position of “Bishop Elect” in preparation for consecration to the office of Bishop within this International Association.  

    Rev. Mills has served in Corporate America as a Human Resources professional for more than 30 years and just recently retired from her position of Senior Vice President with Reliance Trust Co. 

    Rev. Mills has been married to Bro. Ervin E. Mills, her high school sweetheart and her greatest supporter in ministry , for 47years.  She and Bro. Mills are the proud parents of  2 children - Arriana Mills Daniel and Ervin Allen Curtis Mills and they are the proud grandparents of – Keyona,  Erivin Allen Curtis,II, Jazmin, Christopher, Sydney and Keyshon.
